Alicia Barton is a multi-disciplinary visual artist from Albany, NY. Her amorphous sculptures contrast the alluring and beautiful with the repulsive and grotesque, representing the internal/external relationship between personal identity, aesthetic, and mental health while simultaneously infusing moments of nostalgic adolescent symbolism. Alicia's work has been supported by New York State Counsil of the Arts Statewide Community Regrant Program for her project, Art by Mail, as well as by Albany Center Gallery who have commissioned several public art projects. In 2022, The Hyde Collection recognized her work with the Material Award at the final Artists of the Mohawk-Hudson Regional exhibition. Additionally, Alicia's work has also been supported by the Vermont Studio Center with a 2-week stay as Artist in Residence. Alicia has also been recognized by Ortega y Gasset Projects as an Artist to Watch in 2026

Alicia received her MFA from the University at Albany in 2022, her BFA from The College of Saint Rose in 2020, and AAS in Fine Arts from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2015. Her work has been exhibited widely throughout New York state, including at the University Art Museum in Albany, NY; Albany Center Gallery in Albany, NY; The Hyde Collection in Glens Falls, NY; Baba Yaga in Hudson, NY; Collar Works in Troy, NY; Carrie Able Gallery in Brooklyn, NY; and Greenpoint Gallery in Brooklyn, NY.

Alongside her traditional studio practice, Alicia is a tattoo artist. In 2024, Alicia and Aurora opened Goodnight Tattoo, a private studio in Mechanicville, NY, as co-owners. Please see the tattoo information page for more.
